about

This is the debut album from UK synthwave music producer Megaglitch! 'Endless Echoes' is a fresh collection of songs written and recorded by the artist during the 18 months of lockdown between 2020 and 2021.

The album kicks off with the ambitious and energetic track 'Neontage'. A medley of kick drums, snares, drum rolls, and classic synths to set your heart racing for the stoplights!

This is followed by 'The Breach', a more sinister yet still, energetic track exhibiting a much slower and rhythmic mood. Again, a fine mix of ambient kick drums, toms, melodic rhythm guitar, and melancholic guitar leads.

The first two songs really set the pace and flow for this LP until you get into the third track titled 'Droid Cop'...

The track kicks off with the album's signature kick-drum and punchy snares coupled with a side-chained rolling bassline, and a further medley of crazy lead synths and one-line vocoder vocals. The track breaks off into a frenzy halfway through with some interesting synth arpeggios and sequences.

The melancholic title track 'Endless Echoes' does take things down a notch with a more melodic and dreamy sound but continues to set the tone for this LP.

There are some mellower yet deeper songs on the album too. The ominous track titled 'Solar Drift' is another fine brew of ambient synths, strings, and inspiring guitar leads.

Halfway through the song, those kick drums and snares start to come in to add depth and a completely new perspective to the track, which is, by far, my favorite part.

The haunting track 'Senpai' almost has an eastern vibe to it. This track almost feels like a mellowed-out take on Fleetwood Mac's 'Tango In The Night'. Kinda? Maybe.

'Slaves To The Machines' is the closing track on the LP and will send moderate chills down your spine. Definitely the most obscure but interesting song on the whole LP.

Overall, this is an intriguing mix. 'Endless Echoes' is not your typical synthwave bag of tricks! it's certainly influenced by a lot of what you hear in the synthwave genre, but it carries its own identity for sure.
